Fort Worth Gasket opened in 1918. Chi-Yeh Boone purchased the business
in 1992. Her company makes gaskets, distributes industrial supplies and
imports rubber materials. Just this year she was awarded a defense
contract that will be worth over 15 million dollars over five years. Her
company has more than doubled in revenue in 2003 and project to
quadruple in 2004.

received the prestigious MBDA Leadership Award. This award was presented by Mr. John F. Inglehart,
Regional Director of the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business
Development Agency. During the award ceremony Mr. Inglehart praised the
efforts of the awardees for their leadership and outstanding contributions in
expanding the U.S. economy.
April 2001 Ms. Boone
received the award for exemplary achievement for the
year 2000 Mentor-Entrepreneur Program from the North Texas Commission and
Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Business Development Council together with her
mentor, Mr. Richard Stouffer of Texas Instruments. This program is
designed to offer small businesses an unparalleled opportunity to accelerate the
